Our Community Impact

Spirit and Word Fellowship believes in fulfilling the Great Commission both globally and locally.  One of the ways Spirit and Word Fellowship impacts its local community is through Hope in Action.  Hope in Action provides meals and groceries to help those in need in Winchester, Frederick County, and surrounding areas.  We provided help, in partnership with other Hope in Action partners, for 1000s of local families in Frederick County/Winchester City, VA. In 2023, Hope in Action began to expand its reach to surrounding counties and states. Hope in Action partners with local churches, businesses, and community members to provide help in times of need.

We host a Festival of Hope event every year for the community.  This event provides Hope for local families and is a fun event for the whole community.  We also partner with other churches in Hope in Action events all throughout the year. You will see us set up in front of a local business, park, or church with our red tents, grills fired up, and music playing. Hope in Actions provides a free lunch to each person who attends the event. We take time to pray with and share Christ with each person. Every family leaves with a HOPE grocery box, filled with non-perishable food and household supplies.

Spirit and Word Riders is a God-fearing, faith-walking group of men and women who love to ride. Spirit and Word Riders is our point ministry to fight against human trafficking.  In 2023, we held a ride to Stop Human Trafficking and we raised over $16,000 for Savings Sparrows, a local ministry that fights human trafficking. We also held a ride that raised funds for our local Pro-Life pregnancy center, AbbaCare.  We would love to have you join our next ride!
